I like having my kitchen utensils at an arms reach when I’m cooking and it also helps with space. I own way to many kitchen gadgets. I had them all in an old coffee can. The size was great but it wasn’t the prettiest thing. I’ve looked around for a nice one but they were either to pricey or the wrong size or simply not worth the money. scrolling through Pinterest for some basket ideas for a different project I found that you can turn anything into a pretty basket.
I wish I would of taken before and after pictures but you can picture the before pictures. An ugly silver can.
I went to Hobby Lobby to get the rope I needed. They have a few different sizes and styles and tons of colores. I found the one I liked and used a 40% of coupon (they always have the coupon just google search it) and the rope came out to be $1.98 for 100 yards.
At home I had a glue gun and about 5 small glue sticks.
I turned the coffee can upside down and started gluing the rope to the bottom of the can. Then I roped the rope all around the can. I added glue to most of it. I did 3 inches of glue and then 1 inch without.
I added rope in the inside of my can just to cover the section where the seal went. The whole project took about 20 minutes and now I have a really nice kitchen utensil holder.
The cost was about $1.30 I had lots of rope leftover that Matt already used for another kitchen project. I’m estimating 30 cents for the glue.
You can use any type of rope and color to match your kitchen perfectly or use a different container and create beautiful storage for your kids rooms.
